Luminex Corporation, a DiaSorin company, presents the molecular panel xMAP NxTAG Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP), a comprehensive multiplex test that detects nucleic acids from 16 of the most clinically relevant bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens in stool samples on its MAGPIX System. Aiming to simplify workflow and allow for faster diagnostic results, the test provides same-day results, helping clinicians make timely treatment decisions, including de-escalating antibiotic use, and supporting antibiotic stewardship efforts. The panel can run as many as 96 samples at a time, and users may customize the included targets. The test covers eight types of bacteria, five types of viruses, and three parasites.
