Orchard Sequoia is a newly developed Enterprise-class LIS that employs the latest in human computer interaction (HCI) design, as well as a new modular platform framework. This new LIS is easy-to-use and is scalable to accommodate large volumes of laboratory testing across multiple laboratories and departments performing clinical, microbiology, molecular, and pathology testing. The Enterprise-class LIS utilizes Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition architecture. In addition, it has a single application with a segmental design, including clinical, anatomic pathology, and molecular; analytics support business intelligence; SQL server AlwaysOn technology for high-availability and disaster recovery; and big data archival storage for mining unstructured data.
