DiaSorin announces that its Simplexa VZV Swab Direct assay has received CE marking. The molecular diagnostic test enables the direct detection of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) DNA from both cutaneous and mucocutaneous swab specimens. The assay is used with the LIASION MDX instrument and complements the company’s Simplexa HSV 1 and 2 Direct kit. It has also been submitted to the FDA for 510(k) clearance.
