MedicalLab Management is proud to be celebrating its one-year anniversary with the July/August issue! The time has gone by quickly, but we are pleased with the growth and direction the magazine has taken. Aided considerably by our expanding editorial advisory board, as well as our outstanding authors and contributors, we are excited to see what year two has in store.
Having attended several professional meetings, including the CLMA in Orlando and the AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Houston, we continue to hone and shape our editorial content to fit the needs of clinical laboratory managers and directors. Observing the methods and manner in which laboratorians interact with and support the activities of physicians, pathologists, and other clinicians has helped us gain a better insight into how best to deliver the kind of content that can most benefit your practice.
In this month’s issue, we cover a range of topics from standardized labeling for blood, tissue, and cellular therapy products to revealing tactics for benchmarking laboratory outreach programs. Proper laboratory supplies management and the value of temperature monitoring protocols are also explored.
As we look ahead to the rest of 2013, we plan to continue refining our coverage and encourage you to reach out to us with any topics you think worthy of exploration. If you have had any particular success (or faced significant challenges) with the implementation of new automation, software, or hardware systems, we want to hear from you! As is always the case with MLM, it is the practitioner whose voice should ring the loudest when it comes to real-world experience with laboratory operations.
