Strict and reliable temperature control is critical to several laboratory functions, not the least of which are blood bank and patient specimen storage. In order to ensure the integrity of valuable reagents and retain the viability of patient specimens, many facilities are replacing consumer-grade refrigerators and freezers with advanced, medical-grade devices. As medical-grade refrigeration devices become more common in the lab and throughout health care facilities, it is encouraging to see that the accompanying satisfaction ratings are quite high. The vast majority of facilities (87%) rate their refrigeration technology as excellent or good, and just 1% express dissatisfaction with their units.
