Water Purification

State of Laboratory Technology 2019 - Vol. 8 No. 10 - Page #27

Water quality is a critical aspect of the preanalytical phase with significant influence on downstream testing. A significant number of instruments in the clinical lab rely on pure water as, essentially, a laboratory reagent used to prepare buffers and blanks, calibrators and controls, reaction mixtures, and reagent reconstitution for several laboratory assays. Given the growing need for pure water in the clinical setting, investments in sophisticated, automated systems is becoming an imperative.
