As laboratory directors, managers, and leaders, developing your staff members over time to maximize their abilities and grow into independent leaders is key to ongoing quality and success in the lab. Given your insight provided by vast experience, it is never too early to plant the seeds of leadership and nurture that growth. As we are all standing on the shoulders of giants, it is important to encourage your staff to learn from the experiences of others and to continue to broaden their education.

This concept is the driving force behind MedicalLab Management’s presentation of peer-to-peer laboratory leadership content, free of charge to all clinical laboratory practitioners; from directors to bench techs. While our content is generally intended for director-level laboratorians, exposing management concepts to those who hope to someday enter the managerial ranks can only benefit the individual and the institution. This is why the concept of peer-to-peer information sharing is so critical to the mission of MLM. Although we hope our content reaches all current laboratory directors, we want to speak to the future lab leaders as well.

The demands facing clinical laboratories in the new reality of 2021 are substantial. Thus, the need for propagating positive ideas and success stories is all the more important. We call on you to share your successful projects with us and your peers. Now is a time when we all could use a little extra support.
