Beckman Coulter DxA 5000 Fit

The DxA 5000 Fit from Beckman Coulter is designed for laboratories with space constraints, yet its scalable design allows it to easily expand to accommodate growing workloads.

Delivering a combination of rapid and consistent turnaround times along with a comprehensive pre-analytical sample quality assessment, the system promotes efficiency gains by joining automated pre- and post-analytical sample processing with connected chemistry and immunoassay analyzers.

To maximize the impact of valuable lab staff, the DxA 5000 Fit automates the vast majority of manual steps that are performed before and after analysis. This helps streamline diagnostic workflows and promotes a safe and engaging work environment.

The DxA 5000 Fit can be combined with a centrifuge and be connected to up to four of the following Beckman Coulter clinical chemistry/immunoassay instruments: Dxl 600, DxI 800, DxC 700 AU, and AU 5800.

Agility from Dynex

The Dynex Agility automated ELISA system is a flexible, fully automated open system that helps increase the productivity of laboratory personnel through agile throughput of up to 12 plates on board at once. Most of the front-end, manual-intensive steps have been eliminated, including manual liquid-transfer steps, enabling full walk-away processing from the beginning of testing. Up to 16 SmartKit carriers can be stored onboard for simultaneous runs, and continuous sample loading allows operators to begin loading and running microplates as the become ready. The Agility utilizes three precision robotic arms—one for sample pipetting, one for reagent pipetting, and the third for transporting plates and consumables, thereby helping to obtain maximum process efficiency.

BioPlex 2200 from Bio-Rad

The BioPlex 2200 from Bio-Rad is a fully automated, random access, floor-standing, self-contained, multiplex flow immunoassay analyzer that can generate results on demand. Helping to maximize efficiency in the laboratory by simultaneously detecting multiple analytes in a single tube, the BioPlex 2200 reduces hands-on time with liquid, ready-to-use reagents, calibrators, and controls. It also helps improve turnaround time by reporting up to 1200 patient results per hour and supporting up to 8 hours of walkaway processing time. The system connects to total laboratory automation (TLA) systems with a point-in-space design that contributes to a Lean laboratory environment.

The BioPlex 2200 system offers integrated QC smart bead technology in every test, aims to ensure maximum operation with rapid troubleshooting and remote support and monitoring through BRiCare, and provides an antivirus solution via the CylancePROTECT cyber security application. With 51 multiplex assays available and more in development, the system helps streamline the laboratory’s workflow by consolidating tests and platforms for autoimmune, infectious disease, and vitamin D testing.

Medica EasyRA Benchtop from Carolina Liquid Chemistries

The Medica EasyRA from Carolina Liquid Chemistries offers a broad menu of moderate complexity general chemistries and urine drug screens on one benchtop instrument. At 15 inches tall and 40 inches wide, the EasyRA is designed for compact workspaces and is well suited for a variety of test centers, including STAT labs, physician office laboratories, pain management clinics, and urgent care centers. The instrument can run up to 240 tests per hour (400 tests/hour with ISE), and technicians are able to analyze STAT samples in as few as 8 minutes. As an all-in-one system, it is easy to learn, operate, and maintain, and it is backed by customer support and service.

G8 from Tosoh

The Tosoh G8 is designed for A1c testing and diagnosis. The instrument’s cation exchange HPLC method provides an accurate A1c value and detects the most commonly occurring hemoglobins. The system’s nonporous proprietary column provides clear separation of peaks on the chromatogram. With a consistent accuracy of less than 2% CVs and an analysis time of only 1.6 minutes per sample, the G8 offers low maintenance and a small footprint, making it ideal for laboratories of all sizes, including hospitals, core labs, and physician office labs. Tosoh’s 501RP+ reporting software provides the G8 with an expanded functionality of automated result verification and reagent data management capabilities.

BS-480 from Mindray

The BS-480 chemistry analyzer from Mindray is an FDA-cleared, mid- to high-volume chemistry platform with a conventional software design and an easy-to-navigate interface for a positive laboratory user experience. The test menu includes general chemistries, electrolytes, and drugs of abuse, serving the needs of most clinical laboratories and hospitals. The BS-480 is a random-access analyzer with 400 tests per hour (up to 560 tests per hour with ISE) throughput. The analyzer has built-in automatic liquid-level sense, clot, and bubble detection, and automatic probe collision recovery. With an auto-start function and software-driven maintenance procedures, the system has a minimal analyzer start up time. It allows assays with up to 4 reagent components to be analyzed and the bidirectional interface transmission works with most major LIS providers.

D-100 from Bio-Rad

The D-100 from Bio-Rad allows an A1c test to be started with a single touch, and the user can walk away while the system transforms patient samples into A1c results. The onboard Advisor allows for a consistent, thorough review of results, with normal results released automatically, while flagged results are held for further review. The Advisor helps to reduce hands-on time while delivering quality results. All consumables are RFID-tagged for automated traceability and convenience, and reagents can be replaced without stopping the run. The D-100 system generates quality HPLC results every 45 seconds with variant detection and no interference from common variants (eg, HbC, HbS, HbD, and HbE).
